On October 12, Changzhou National High-Tech District (CND) held a ceremony to mark 37 key projects' commencement or completion.
Most of the projects are involved in emerging industries such as intelligent energy, new material, new energy vehicle, next-generation information technology, and new medicine.
There are also programs related to sci-tech innovation, environmental protection, and social services.
Sheng Lei, deputy Party chief and acting mayor of Changzhou, attended the ceremony and announced the groundbreaking of 19 projects with a total investment of 13.76 billion yuan.
The 18 completed projects, with a total investment of 7.81 billion yuan, include six key municipal and 12 district-level projects.
The event also announced a successful trial run of the first large-tow carbon fiber production line of Newtry Tangu Holding Co., Ltd., a major provincial project with a total investment of 5 billion yuan.
This project will become the largest carbon fiber and composite material production center in China, with an estimated annual sales of over 10 billion yuan.
Jiang Feng, Party secretary of Xinbei district, and Zhou Chengtao, secretary-general of Changzhou Municipal People’s Government, were present at the event.
