During this year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Changzhou experienced a remarkable increase in tourist numbers and consumer spending. The city's 12 key scenic spots attracted a total of 1.1368 million visitors, indicating a substantial 19.52 percent growth compared to 2019. The revenue generated from these visits reached 107.43 million yuan, representing an impressive 25.72 percent increase compared to 2019. Moreover, Changzhou's 46 key retail and catering enterprises, along with nine urban complexes, achieved a combined sales revenue of 287.876 million yuan during the three-day holiday. This reflects a 7.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year and a significant 19.5 percent increase compared to 2019.

To boost the consumption of new energy vehicles (NEVs), Changzhou has implemented a subsidy program offering a maximum subsidy of 8,000 yuan per vehicle. Since its launch on April 17, the program has received over 5,300 approved applications, resulting in subsidies totaling over 23 million yuan. This initiative is expected to drive nearly 1.2 billion yuan in NEV consumption, promoting sustainable and eco-friendly transportation options.

Additionally, on June 6, Changzhou launched a distribution of one million yuan worth of digital yuan "red packets" to stimulate consumption. These digital red envelopes can be used until early July, aiming to encourage the widespread adoption of digital yuan applications in the city's commercial and trade sectors. This initiative demonstrates Changzhou's commitment to embracing innovative digital payment solutions and supporting the advancement of digital currency technologies.
