The week-long National Day holiday, or as people love to call it the “Golden Week,” ended on October 7, with data revealing robust consumer spending.
According to data released by Changzhou Bureau of Commerce, during the seven-day holiday, the city’s 51 major large and medium-sized retail and catering businesses and nine shopping centers achieved sales of 766.486 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.3 percent.
The Jiangsu Lingjiatang Market, a wholesale market for agricultural and sideline products, reached 790.155 million yuan in sales, up 7.5 percent from the same period of 2020.
