Li Lin meets with U.S. Consul General in Shanghai

On October 22nd, Li Lin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and executive vice mayor of Changzhou, received the delegation headed by James Heller, Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai.

At the meeting, Li Lin briefed the delegation on Changzhou’s economic and social development as a star city of intelligent manufacturing and a beautiful place rich with culture.

In the next five years, Changzhou will grow into an international star city of intelligent manufacturing and a pivotal hub in the Yangtze River Delta region, said Li, adding that the city is pressing ahead with the “532” development plans for a promising future.

Looking forward to extensive cooperation in more areas between both sides, Li stated that Changzhou will care for and support the city’s foreign-funded enterprises with continuous efforts and high-quality services.

Seeing the great potential for future cooperation between the two sides, James Heller stated that the U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai will support cooperative programs in commerce, culture, industry, friendship city exchanges, and many other areas.

During their stay in Changzhou, the delegates visited the Tianning Temple, Tianning Pagoda, and Sensata Technologies Changzhou Co., Ltd.

As of August this year, Changzhou has approved 866 enterprises funded by U.S. investors to register in the city, including many Fortune 500 companies like General Electric, Kohler, and A.O. Smith. Meanwhile, Changzhou-based companies have invested in 138 projects in the United States.
