To boost waste sorting and recycling, Changzhou's Wujin district has developed a comprehensive system for waste management, covering generation, collection, and disposal. This ensures that different types of waste are properly recycled and reused, leading to improved resource utilization.
From January to June, Wujin collected significant amounts of various materials: 199.65 tons of paper, 111.38 tons of plastic, 88.91 tons of metal, 39.02 tons of glass, 144.19 tons of textiles, 57.03 tons of packaging waste, and 17.6 tons of electronic waste.
Furthermore, Wujin actively promotes waste sorting through educational campaigns. In the first half of 2023, the district organized 155 public events, conducted 16 training sessions, and distributed 29,523 informational materials on waste sorting. Exciting activities like the "Low Carbon Lifestyle for Waste Sorting" series, the "Public Welfare Little Angels" waste sorting handicraft competition, and the collection of brand names and mascots have been implemented to raise residents' awareness and encourage their active participation in waste sorting efforts.
