Red tourism, or a subset of tourism in which people visit sites with historical significance for communism in China, is booming in the country as this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
Recently, Jiangsu announced a list of 100 red tourism sites across the province.
Changzhou has eight sites inscribed on the list. They are the Maoshan Base Area of Resisting Japanese Aggression, the Changzhou Cemetery of Revolutionary Martyrs, the Former Residence and Memorial Hall of Zhang Tailei, the Former Residence and Memorial Hall of Yun Daiying, the Former Residence and Memorial Hall of Qu Qiubai, the Former Site of New Fourth Army Jiangnan Command, the Jianchang polder, and the Tangma village.
