On January 5, Yang Fen, director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, visited the Changzhou facilities of major Taiwan-funded enterprises such as LITE-ON Technology, EPISTAR, Chemsemi, and Kwang Yang Motor.
Yang learned about these companies’ business operation and development in Changzhou, encouraging compatriots and enterprises from Taiwan to increase investments and expand production capacities on the Chinese mainland.
She also requested the city’s Taiwan Affairs Offices at municipal and district levels to support enterprises in difficulty with pragmatic measures.
Changzhou is home to 1,448 enterprises and more than 1,500 compatriots from Taiwan. From January to November 2021, the city’s Taiwan-funded companies achieved revenue of 28.37 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.48 percent. Their exports exceeded 2 billion US dollars, up 23.2 percent over the same period in 2020.
