On the afternoon of September 1, mayor Chen Jinhu received the delegation headed by Shinji Ono, president of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (China) Limited (SMBCCN), at the Administration Center.
Chen Jinhu briefed the delegation on the development of over 600 Japanese-invested companies in Changzhou. He said that these enterprises, mainly engaged in smart equipment, metallurgy, precision machinery, electronics and garments, have made great contribution to Changzhou’s economic and social development. At present, as Changzhou is stepping up the development in smart manufacturing industry, he hopes that Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) will continue to support Changzhou not only in financial services, but also in investment attraction, so as to build the city into a hotspot for Japanese investors.
Shinji Ono said that SMBC is one of Japan's leading banks and the core unit of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group. Over the years, SMBC has maintained close cooperation with Changzhou, based on which it will continue to expand cooperation particularly in the areas of electronics, automobiles, environment programs and elderly care services. At the same time, it will support more local enterprises to go global and help nurturing more businesses contributing to the development of China and the world.
