This year, Changzhou has stepped up efforts to build a sound telecom infrastructure for widening the use of 5G in more sectors.
The city has rolled out 10,035 5G base stations by the end of August, with 5G services available in urban areas, major townships, and key scenic spots, as well as more than 80 percent of industrial parks and leading enterprises.
The 4G to 5G transition has seen exponential growth. From January to August this year, the number of 5G service users reached 1.259 million, a year-on-year increase of 6.4 percentage points.
The integration of 5G into the industrial network has also made conspicuous headway, with four projects launched this year concerning 5G plus industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare. The projects include the digital factory of Zenith Steel Group, a rural revitalization project signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Changzhou Branch of China Mobile, and the healthcare app developed by Jiangsu Jiuxin Medical Technology Co., Ltd.
