On the afternoon of November 18, Yaskawa (China) Robotics Co., Ltd. announced that its robot shipments reached the mark of 50,000 units. Li Lin, vice mayor of Changzhou Municipal People’s Government and secretary of CPC Wujin District Committee, attended the event and delivered a speech.
Founded in 1915 and based in Kitakyushu, Yaskawa Electric is one of the world’s leading manufacturers in the fields of drive technology, industrial automation and robotics.
In March 2012, Yaskawa (China) Robotics Co., Ltd. was established in Wujin High-Tech Industrial Zone (WIZ), Changzhou. The opening ceremony for the facility was held on June 22, 2013. With a total investment of 115 million USD (as of this update), the company is specialized in the production of industrial robots and controllers. Having a production capacity of 18,000 units/year, it has achieved sales revenue of 690 million yuan in the first three quarters of 2020.
The WIZ, serving as the most important platform for Wujin’s opening up, has now become an ideal place for many foreign investors to develop their businesses in China.
