Jiangsu province has announced the establishment of 11 Internet of Vehicles (IoV) pilot zones across various cities to accelerate the industry's growth. These zones include Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) and Wuzhong and Xiangcheng districts in Suzhou; Wuxi Economic Development Zone (WEDZ) and Xinwu and Xishan districts in Wuxi; Liyang county-level city and Wujin district in Changzhou; Jiangning Development Zone (JNDZ) in Nanjing; Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone; and Chongchuan district in Nantong.
IoV, also known as intelligent connected vehicles, leverages advanced technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing, and blockchain. Jiangsu has identified the sector as a strategic pillar in its plan to develop advanced manufacturing clusters.
Each pilot zone offers distinct strengths and industrial advantages. For instance, Liyang ranked first nationwide in power battery production last year, contributing 13.7 percent of China’s total output and 37.8 percent of Jiangsu’s.
This initiative underscores Jiangsu’s commitment to driving innovation and positioning itself as a leader in IoV development.
